This recipe is so delicious and a great choice for a morning porridge. It contains Rabbi dates which has a lot of minerals and vitamins. Its sweetness is low and pleasant. Rabbi date has a high nutritional value and contains minerals such as calcium, potassium, magnesium, protein and vitamins such as A, B and C. This organic date is also full of helpful sugar called lactose and fructose which are not harmful for those who suffer from high blood sugar.
Squash, date and lemon compote
This recipe straddles the line between sweet and savory. It works equally well as a chunky accompaniment to steamy fish at dinnertime and as a stir-in for a morning porridge.

 ½ butternut squash, peeled, cut into 1/2 ̎ pieces (about 4 cups)
 One cup golden raisins
 8 Rabbi dates, pitted, chopped
 ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
 One cinnamon stick
 6 whole cloves
 1 tsp kosher salt
 1 tsp finely regular lemon zest

Combine squash, raisins, Rabbi dates, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, cloves, salt, and one cup water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook, covered, 8-10 minutes. Uncover and cook, stirring, until squash is tender and glossy and liquid is almost completely absorbed, 8-10 minutes more. Remove cinnamon stick and cloves and discard. Stir in lemon zest.
